Pre-construction

D&K Enterprises has a “supercharged” approach to pre-construction. We believe the best projects start with detailed planning. Our pre-construction services include cost estimating, scheduling, scope of work development, budget preparation and value engineering. But we go beyond the basics and relentlessly scrutinize the plans and specifications to find extra value for our clients.

Tenant Improvements

Building an interior space requires a special skill set that not all construction companies possess, especially when working in occupied buildings. Issues such as security, safety, air quality, delivery logistics and even debris management all come into play when working in an occupied building. The more complicated your project is, the more we shine. D&K Enterprises possesses the know-how to keep a jobsite clean, safe, and secure.

D&K Enterprises has extensive familiarity with office build-outs, retail spaces, occupied school campuses and even country club renovations. We understand how important it is to our clients to maintain ongoing operations while tenant improvements are being built. We do whatever it takes to make sure there are no disruptions to building occupants. If you think a tenant improvement project can’t be done without disorder and disturbance, we encourage you to call our clients who will attest to our virtual “invisibility”.

Sustainable Construction

Green Building is not the wave of the future, it is now the norm. The majority of our projects today are either LEED certified or contain significant sustainable construction elements. We predict that the trend towards sustainable building practices is not merely a passing fad, but rather a long term development that will only become more prevalent in the industry. At D&K Enterprises we welcome the movement towards healthier, more environmentally friendly buildings because we know that it ultimately leads to more satisfied clients and building occupants. Additionally, green operations and management can reduce operating costs, enhance building marketability, increase workers’ productivity, and reduce potential liability resulting from indoor air quality problems.

Green Building Experience

D&K Enterprises recognizes the impact that construction activities can have on the natural environment and on building occupants. We take these impacts seriously and are committed to sustainable building practices that minimize environmental impacts, improve energy efficiency, reduce water demand, promote recycling and promote improved indoor air quality. D&K Enterprises encourages our clients to consider these issues in the design, construction and operation of their buildings and we enjoy working with design professionals and subcontractors who share our enthusiasm for green building.

Our Proven Formula For Bringing Projects Into Budget

D&K Enterprises has a superior reputation for bringing projects in budget, often when other contractors can’t or won’t. We work with the design professionals to identify alternatives for the systems and materials going into the final design. By considering these “Cost Savings Alternatives” in the course of design, we are able incorporate the most cost effective means, methods, systems and materials into every building we construct.

A Trendsetting Approach To Evaluating Sustainable Design/LEED Options

We review and evaluate initial vs. long term costs associated with energy and water use efficiency, in addition to intangible issues such as staff productivity and wellness. For example, D&K Enterprises can perform life-cycle cost analysis on different energy efficiency measures to calculate which options are the most cost effective over the expected useful life of the equipment. We will also offer suggestions for alternative systems and/or materials suppliers who may be able to provide lower pricing as well as provide suggestions of subcontractors who are best able to procure and install the products.

Calculated Project Start-up

Prior to the start of a project, D&K Enterprises will develop a “Means & Methods Statement” as a road map for the success of the project. This allows for a “build it on paper” approach prior to groundbreaking. This clear and early understanding of logistical concerns and coordination issues also assures that field concerns and issues will be identified prior to the development of a CPM schedule, and not in the field, where time is indeed money. A review of our road map will be reassessed on an ongoing basis and refined as needed.
